Moscow (Web Desk) Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed during a telephone conversation with Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu preparations for a new meeting within the framework of the Astana platform.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the two parties affirmed their commitment to working towards a settlement in Syria on the basis of Security Council resolution no. 2254.
The Ministry said the two ministers discussed holding a new international meeting about Syria in Astana, which is due to be held at the end of November.
Lavrov and Cavusoglu also exchanged views on the steps intended to guarantee that the meeting will yield positive results.
