CTD foils major terror bid in Karachi


KARACHI: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday claimed to have foiled a major terror bid, while recovering huge cache of weapons and explosives in Manghopir area of Karachi.

On a tip-off, the CTD personnel raided at hideout in Malir area of Karachi and seized huge cache of explosives and weapons during a search operation.

CTD claimed that the alleged terrorist of a political party had hidden the weapons and explosives. The arms and ammunition were to be used to target a shopping center and installations of intelligence agencies.

In a separate development, on a tip-off, the police conducted search operation in Phuktunabad area of Manghopir in Karachi on Tuesday and rounded up 44 suspected persons, including two foreigners.

Similarly, the law enforcing agencies conducted search operations in Shireen Jinnah Colony and Baldia Colony and arrested three and two alleged gamblers, respectively.
