‘Saudi-led states fail to impose will on Qatar’

DOHA: (Web Desk) An analyst says the move by a Saudi-led bloc of countries to extend a deadline they had set for Qatar indicates that they have failed to impose their will on Doha.

The extension of deadline shows “the Saudis and their allies don’t know what to do” and that they do not have the upper hand to impose their will on Doha, Lawrence Davidson told to media on Monday.

“They know very well that the Qataris are going to say no [to the Saudi list of demands] or they are going to give them some sort of minor… reply that allows some face saving perhaps.”

“The Saudis and their allies have painted themselves into a sort of diplomatic corner,” he said.
